CLONING
By sequencing clones obtained from a size-fractionated brain cDNA
library, Nagase et al. (1999) cloned DNAJC9, which they designated
KIAA0974. The transcript contains repetitive elements in its 3-prime
UTR, and the deduced protein contains 565 amino acids. RT-PCR ELISA
detected moderate expression in all tissues and specific brain regions
examined, with highest levels in kidney, testis, ovary, and fetal liver.
Takamura et al. (2001) cloned rat Dnajc9, which they called Jdd1. In
situ hybridization revealed strong Jdd1 expression in the germinal zone
of rat central nervous system, and Jdd1 expression continued after
birth. Jdd1 expression was also detected in embryonic rat liver, lung,
and kidney cortex.
MAPPING
The International Radiation Hybrid Mapping Consortium mapped the DNAJC9
gene to chromosome 10 (TMAP SHGC-35170).
