followed by RT-PCR of normal testis mRNA, Proikas-Cezanne et al. (2004)
cloned 4 splice variants of WIPI2. The deduced full-length WIPI2 protein
contains 7 WD-like repeats. Northern blot analysis detected ubiquitous
expression of an approximately 2.6-kb transcript. Highest expression was
in heart, skeletal muscle, and pancreas. Proikas-Cezanne et al. (2004)
also found that WIPI2 expression was downregulated in a significant
portion of renal and pancreatic cancers.
